About Danika
I trained to teach with the Ofsted Outstanding rated Wildern School Partnership and I am an English Literature Graduate from the University of Warwick, with a devoted passion for literature, the arts and humanities. Before changing careers to fulfil my passion of teaching and learning, I worked in Communications in the Corporate sector and am a strong believer in the humanities as a crucial backbone to a fulfilling career, and in developing strong life skills.
It has been said of a good teacher that they teach "how to think, not what to think", which is a very important aspect of my style of tutoring. I have never lost my thirst for knowledge and new ideas, and I hope to instil in my students that same passion - Always encouraging them to find their own solutions and theories, and not imposing thoughts onto them.
I am also trained in mindfulness, and am a certified Yoga Alliance Teen Yoga Instructor. This helps me to take a holistic view of education and to adopt a calming and nurturing approach. I also offer 1:1 and group yoga and mindfulness classes.

I am a passionate and ambitious educator with pupil progress and well-being at the heart of everything I do. As a qualified Secondary English Teacher (QTS, PGCE) I have a secure and strong knowledge of the new KS3 and GCSE English syllabuses, and as an experienced AQA examiner, I know the mark scheme inside out and can help students target their areas of development!
I have, on average, been able to improve students performance in their GCSEs by two grades and, in my 5 years of tutoring privately, have a 100% pass rate for the students I have assisted.
In my work within schools and privately, I have specialised in teaching students with varying barriers to learning, including; dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD and anxiety. My approach always starts with getting to know the student and tailoring lessons to meet their specific needs - then with patience, understanding and lots of tips and tricks along the way, we are able to work together to knock those barriers down!
