About Annabel
Experienced A-Level chemistry and GCSE science tutoring with proven results. I am an experienced head of chemistry and private tutor. I have a proven track record of top grades with many of my students exceeding their predicted grades. Students in my last cohort (at school) achieved 83% A*-B in their A Level Chemistry (across all 3 papers). For reference, the national average for A*-B was 54%. With that number being even higher for paper 2 (organic paper), with 40% of the cohort achieving A* in this paper with only 13% of the cohort being predicted this. These results were highly above average and most students exceeded their predicted grades by 1-2 grades. I have also had many successes with GCSE results too, again often raising attainment by 2+ grades. I am an organic specialist but am confident in the whole A Level curriculum. I have an expanse of resources available to share with students to support their studies. I also have a strong awareness of the specification and how the assessments link to this, the common questions that arise and how to tackle these. I work closely with an experienced A Level chief examiner to ensure I am up to date with examination techniques. I am experienced across all three sciences for GCSE. That is across multiple exam boards and all tiers. I am happy to share more figures and have a chat regarding my teaching style. More about me: I graduated from Loughborough University in 2020 with a 2:1 and from the University of Cumbria in 2021 with a PGCE. I have been working in education since 2017 and as a science teacher since June 2021.

My approach to tutoring involves adapting and creating personalised lessons to suit my students' requirements. I have worked closely with many education professionals to ensure I am up to date with teaching techniques. With this information, I can fit the lessons to how my students learn best. I also ensure resources are made and tailored based on the format that is best for the student. I ensure progress is monitored by providing regular quizzes, and in the case of GCSE and A-Level students, practice exam questions tailored to their exam board. Annabel helped my daughter prepare for her science GCSES. I recommend her unreservedly. She was excellent at identifying the areas where my daughter needed to improve and at setting her personalised questions on her weaker topics.
