About Pete
I am an experienced maths tutor, physics tutor and science tutor, and a qualified secondary school maths and physics teacher. I am DBS certified and have been a university professor since 2003. I am one of the lead governors at a successful specialist Mathematics A-level school and dad to four teenagers (two girls and two boys).

I have a calm approach to tutoring that is based on being supportive and engaging. Whether face-to-face (when safe to do so) or online, I use two-way conversations and interaction to encourage and support each student towards reaching their full potential: I consciously adapt the delivery style for each tutee to match their specific learning needs. I will work with each student initially to identity any areas of weakness or strength and then to design a tailored approach. Examples of tutorial content could include;
– Weekly help to embed specific homework themes
– Weekly work towards broader subject understanding
– Guided past paper question practise
– Intensive topic revision and exam preparation
