About Purnima
My journey in Chemistry began with a fascination for how the world operates at a molecular level and how complex interactions give rise to observable changes. This passion led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemical Sciences, where I studied reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, bonding theories, analytical methods, and chemical kinetics. Over the past 8 years, I have focused on teaching students in a way that emphasizes comprehension, conceptual clarity, and practical reasoning rather than rote memorization. I adopt a patient, structured, and adaptive teaching style. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence at a natural pace. My approach integrates diagrams, real-world examples, step-by-step problem solving, and reasoning exercises, ensuring that learners understand not just what happens in a reaction, but why it occurs and how the principles interconnect. Beyond teaching, I actively engage with contemporary chemical research, laboratory experiments, and educational developments, which allows me to provide students with a broader perspective and real-world relevance. Watching learners evolve from hesitant beginners to confident thinkers who approach chemistry with curiosity, analytical skill, and independence is profoundly rewarding. Seeing them develop self-confidence, resilience, and long-term intellectual growth gives me one of the deepest professional satisfactions, as I know they carry these skills into every area of learning and problem-solving throughout their lives.

Chemistry becomes approachable when students are able to visualize atomic and molecular interactions, recognize patterns, and understand the reasoning behind reactions rather than memorizing formulas. My lessons cover atomic structure, bonding, periodicity, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, equilibrium, acids and bases, and introductory organic mechanisms. I emphasize connecting theory to practical examples and real-world applications, breaking down concepts with visual aids, stepwise explanations, and structured problem-solving. This helps learners build confidence and an intuitive understanding of the principles underlying chemical behavior.
Lessons are carefully tailored to each student’s level. Beginners start with atomic models, valency, basic bonding, and simple reactions. Intermediate learners focus on mole calculations, reaction patterns, bonding properties, energy changes, and laboratory interpretation. Advanced students tackle multi-step organic reactions, equilibrium calculations, thermodynamic problems, and complex analytical questions. I provide structured guidance, reasoning prompts, and targeted feedback throughout each session to ensure consistent progress and steady improvement in understanding and application.
Chemistry develops analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and the ability to interpret patterns in complex systems. As students progress, they begin to connect micro-level behavior with observable macroscopic phenomena, strengthening both their scientific intuition and their problem-solving skills.
