About Purva
I am a dedicated and experienced IB educator with a strong academic background and several years of teaching across international school programs. I teach Design Technology for IB MYP and DP, and Biology for IB MYP, with a focus on clear explanations, practical understanding, and student confidence. As an Apple Distinguished Educator and a PhD scholar in Educational Technology, I bring research-informed, technology-enhanced teaching into my classes while maintaining a warm, supportive learning environment. I am professional, well-organized, and committed to helping every student progress at their own pace. My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students enjoy learning and develop skills that will support them beyond the classroom.

My teaching approach is student-centred, inquiry-based, and concept-driven, with a strong focus on helping learners understand why concepts work rather than memorising answers. I use design thinking, hands-on activities, real-world examples, and visual explanations to make learning meaningful and engaging. A typical class begins with clear learning objectives and a short discussion or trigger activity, followed by guided explanation, practical tasks, and independent or collaborative work, with continuous feedback and support. Each session concludes with reflection or a quick check for understanding to consolidate learning. What distinguishes me as a teacher is my ability to explain complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and integrate technology thoughtfully to enhance understanding. My classes are designed for school-age students, specifically IB MYP students for Biology and IB MYP and DP students for Design Technology, supporting both concept mastery and skill development.
