About Jane
I have a degree in modern European languages and translation and an MA in Applied Linguistics.
I have taught EAP and ESL for more than 25 years. I also write material for well-known publishers and teach for
English for an online university.
Some of my writing includes coursebooks for secondary schools, writing skills and IELTS exams.
I also work as a proofreader and have helped many students (and a few professors) to complete their dissertations or prepare papers for publication.

My approach to teaching is highly student-centred and communicative. I find out what the student wants and adapt my classes to their needs.
I focus equally on all language skills, including pronunciation, and make sure that all my lessons are challenging and enjoyable. I use authentic materials where possible and encourage students to bring their own ideas and examples of text, video or work they want to exploit.
On the other hand, if it's a high score in the IELTS exam you want, then you will be guided gently but made to work hard.
