About Kim

Hi, I'm Kim.

I became a teacher a couple of years before we all had that year in lock down. During my teaching in classrooms in the UK, I had found a fun personal way to keep young children engaged and having fun whilst learning. When it all moved to webcam learning for the year, it was apparent that learning needed to quickly adapt, especially for young learners as their concentration waned so quickly in virtual lessons.

I developed an online teaching method that children respond well to and parents give great feedback for. I now provide both online teaching as well as continuing to teach young international students in an Academy in Spain.

I am a warm hearted, friendly person who loves to inspire children to learn. I completely respect that all children are different and have their own magical ways of doing things. I will adapt my classes to suit their personalities as well as make it fun for the parents so that you can carry on the learning out of class if you want to. I absolutely love teaching and have so much fun thinking up creative activities for classes.

About the lesson

My speciality is in providing engaging and fun lessons for young learners in reading and writing. I love to inspire and develop a student's passion for learning to read and write so they can unlock all those exciting, written adventures.

After an initial assessment to determine the student's level and needs, we would build a foundation in phonetics, word structures and grammar using lots of games, songs and practicing. I'm a big believer in making learning fun and tailoring a class to each individual student so they that keep engaged. I'll provide in class activities, worksheets, offline games and support along the learning journey with me.

Depending on the student's age and level, lessons would range from between half an hour up to one hour.

I am experienced in teaching young learners how to read and write using the Jolly Phonics method. I have over 6 years teaching experience, 3 of which have been specifically teaching Jolly Phonics classes. I have taught Year 1 and 2 native English speakers at an international school in Spain well as taught TEFL for Spanish students of all ages.

My lessons are aimed at young learners aged from 4 to 8 years old. Either as their very first learning to read and write experience or as an educational support to their primary school studies. I can also adapt my lessons to support their current curriculum as needed. Whether your child has buckets of energy and wants to zoom around the room or is perhaps a little shy and quiet, they'll absolutely love the class that will be fully adapted to them.
