About Mayline
I am an experienced tutor with over 12 years of experience, having attended Dartford Grammar School and Dartford Grammar School for Girls, before going on to study at Russell Group universities.
I am passionate about pedagogy and how children learn best, and I tutor alongside my day job because I genuinely enjoy supporting pupils in their development. I focus on building strong relationships with my students — often bonding over their hobbies and interests — to create a comfortable, engaging learning environment where they can thrive.
I also believe in working closely with parents, as we are all part of the same team, ensuring each child receives consistent support both in and outside of sessions.

I take a structured and highly personalised approach to tutoring, ensuring each child develops both strong academic foundations and genuine confidence in their abilities. Every programme is tailored and agile, adapting continuously to each pupil’s strengths, gaps, and learning style.
Sessions typically follow a consistent format to maximise progress and focus. We begin with a short “brain warm-up” activity to engage attention and activate prior knowledge, followed by a period of deep, focused learning where key literacy and numeracy skills are developed and practised. Each session ends with reflection and clear next steps, helping pupils build awareness of their progress and maintain momentum between lessons.
I have over 12 years of experience tutoring for the 11+, with a strong track record of success. Having gone through the process myself, I understand both the academic and emotional demands it places on children. I prioritise building trust quickly, breaking down barriers to learning, and creating an environment where children feel capable, motivated, and supported.
These early years sessions are designed for Year 3 and Year 4 pupils whose parents are planning ahead for the 11+. The focus is on reinforcing school learning, securing core literacy and numeracy skills, and gently introducing 11+ concepts in ways that are age-appropriate, engaging, and accessible. The aim is not pressure, but preparation — giving each child a confident and well-rounded start before formal 11+ tutoring begins.
I also offer 11+ tutoring for Year 5, and SATs and secondary school preparation for Year 6, meaning many families choose to stay with me throughout their child’s journey for consistency, continuity, and sustained progress.
