I am an experienced educator as I am entering year 6 in the classroom. I hold a bachelor of arts degree in English in which my focus was in literature and rhetoric. Additionally, I hold a master of arts degree in teaching with certification in 6-12.

The “gotcha” method is outdated and tacky! The purpose of diving through literature is to improve vocabulary and encourage critical thinking through conversations. Any quotation or passage within the piece of literature can be analyzed through asking questions and locating patterns. Each literary element is the author enticing the reader to join in the conversation. My lessons’ objective is to develop critical thinking through analyzing literary ideas. This is a soft skills most, if not all, employees and humans need to grow professionally and socially.
