About Daniel
I am a dedicated educator with experience in classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and student development. As a former geometry instructor with the Upward Bound program at Sonoma State University, I developed a passion for helping students overcome academic challenges and recognize their potential.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience, encouragement, and personalized instruction. I believe every student can succeed when given the right tools, guidance, and support. I take the time to understand each student's needs, explain concepts clearly, and create a welcoming environment where asking questions and learning from mistakes are part of the process.
Beyond teaching math, I help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills that benefit them both inside and outside the classroom. My goal is not simply to help students earn better grades, but to build lasting confidence in their abilities.

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, patient, and focused on building both understanding and confidence. As an experienced educator and former geometry instructor with the Upward Bound program at Sonoma State University, I understand that every student learns differently. I break down challenging concepts into manageable steps, use real-world examples, and encourage students to explain their reasoning so they understand not just how to solve a problem, but why it works.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and reviewing areas of difficulty. We then work through examples together, practice problems with guided support, and gradually transition to independent practice. I finish by reviewing key concepts, addressing remaining questions, and identifying next steps.
What sets me apart is my background in teaching, instructional coaching, and supporting students with diverse learning needs. I create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes, and developing independent problem-solving skills.
My lessons are ideal for middle, high school and college students seeking support with foundational math, homework, geometry, exam preparation, or challenging concepts. My goal is to help every student become a more confident, capable, and independent learner.
