About Natacha
My experience of studying, living and working in different countries and universities has enriched both my academic and personal life. I have a deep understanding of different educational systems and how they are influenced by social and economic factors, as well as various cultures, traditions and values.
The student population that I support is very varied and multicultural. As well as working with home students, I work with many international students from different cultures and varying levels of language skills.
I am an empathetic and relatable person, able to establish a rapport with people from all walks of life. I encourage and respect students who work hard and are fully invested in their education.
I am truly passionate about nurturing my students' curiosity for chemistry and my approaches to teaching ensure that they are not only studying in order to pass the exams but because they are genuinely interested.

I have a PhD in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry and have been privileged to work in several UK universities, namely University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, University of Reading and Imperial College London. I have over 20 years' experience in further and higher education. Specifically, I have been tutoring A level students since 2015 and lecturing organic chemistry at university level since 2020.
Chemistry has applications in everyday life, from baking and perfume making to tackling global sustainability challenges. I like including relevant analogies and real-world examples in my teaching as this enhances students’ interest and understanding at all levels.
I believe that as a teacher, my role is to facilitate learning. I strive to foster an inquisitive mind and encourage students to be actively engaged in their education. I try to instil self-confidence and equip students with coping mechanisms to become independent thinkers and learners.
I have learnt over the years how to address individuals’ needs, as students have different learning capabilities. My teaching is specialised and the goal is made clear.
Each lesson will be specifically designed to the student’s need and the syllabus specifications. I develop strategies with individual students to help them develop confidence and problem-solving skills. I employ an “active learning” approach where the student is totally engaged in their learning as opposed to a `lecturing` style with the goal of achieving the best grades possible.
I am able to offer one on one tutoring online or in person (East Midlands area) to A-level students (Chemistry) and undergraduate students (Organic Chemistry).
The minimum length of a session is 1 hour.
Maximum length is 2 hours (with a 10-minute break) as I find that the attention span decreases as the cognitive load increases.
