About Bess
I have seven years of experience tutoring middle and early high school students in a variety of subjects, including a year working one-on-one at a school for children experiencing homelessness. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of approaching each session differently, recognizing that every student learns in their own unique way. I focus on making learning engaging and fun, breaking down complex concepts step by step so that students feel confident and empowered. My goal is not just to help students succeed academically, but to foster a positive, approachable learning experience that encourages curiosity and growth.

I understand that every child learns differently, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. My lessons focus on breaking down topics into clear, step-by-step methods for solving problems, with plenty of repetition to reinforce learning—the more you practice, the stronger you become. Each session is tailored to the student’s pace and learning style, typically including a review of previous material, introduction of new concepts, guided practice, and time for questions. My goal is to make math approachable and understandable.
