About Allegra
I'm an aspiring English student on a gap year with a deep love for literature and the English language. I achieved three A*s and one B in my A-Levels last year, and have two years of experience in tutoring. I'm keen to inspire interest in and enthusiasm for English in my students, while helping them to familiarise themselves with the specific requirements of their school, college, or exam board. I use a flexible, personalised approach that adapts to my students' individual needs and struggles. Whether that means focusing on past papers, practising essay-writing, or working through homework together, I will work with my student and their parents to devise the best approach for their success. Lengths of lessons can vary too, but I'd recommend beginning with one-hour online sessions. Having just taken my A-Levels (with an A* in English Literature and full marks on my coursework), I'm highly aware of the current exam boards' expectations of students. My success in assessing the requirements of exam boards I am unfamiliar with is evident in the result of my last student: she attained a 7 in her English Language GCSE despite having consistently achieved 3s and 4s before I started tutoring her. I'm happy to tutor A-Level, GCSE, IB, or KS3 students.
