About Mary
I have spent the past 30 years working with students of all ages. My college degree is in elementary education and English; my master's degree is in curriculum and instruction and Teaching English as a Second Language. I am certified in grades kindergarten-12th grade, reading, English, English as a Second Language and special education.

I am an experienced English teacher who is currently working with 9th grade students and college students. I work very hard to determine where my students' strengths and weaknesses are and how I can help them all improve. I build my lessons around an interesting story or article, and incorporate grammar, reading comprehension, higher order thinking, and writing. What sets me apart as a tutor is the fact that I have worked with all levels of students, from elementary to high school, to college and adults. I have worked with English language learners and native English speakers. My lessons are for all age levels and all English proficiency levels.
