About Heran
Hi! I’m an experienced English teacher currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. I hold an MA in TESOL from California State University, East Bay and have taught students from primary school through university level in China and the United States. I’m currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), with practical experience teaching in a New Zealand secondary school.
My English teaching experience includes IGCSE English, HKDSE English, Academic Writing, IELTS and TOEFL preparation, as well as AP-style academic writing. I also tutor university students in academic writing, essay structure, critical thinking, and communication skills.
I believe effective tutoring should be supportive, practical, and personalized. I adapt my lessons to each student’s level, goals, and learning style, whether you’re preparing for an exam, working on an essay, improving your academic English, or simply wanting to communicate more confidently.
