About Melanie
Hello! I'm Melanie, an EFL teacher from the UK. I am a native English teacher with over 20 years’ experience and I hold a Post Graduate Certificate in TESOL. I have worked with children, teenagers and adults of all levels in Asia and Europe.
I've always been fascinated by languages, people and cultures, and after I graduated with a degree in French, I moved to Japan to teach English. I had an amazing experience, so good that I stayed there for almost two decades! Then I moved to Italy where I could immerse myself in a completely different culture.
My teaching experience has been varied. I have taught in state schools, language schools, and I have privately tutored individuals. My students have been of all levels and all ages, from preschool children to retired adults. Whatever the age or level of the student, it is important for me that they feel comfortable and not only improve their English but also gain confidence and enjoy using a foreign language.

My teaching style is friendly and supportive. I can help you progress at your own pace with lessons tailored to your needs.
I offer:
- speaking practice (conversation, preparation for presentations or interviews, etc)
- exam preparation lessons (such as Cambridge First and Advanced)
- general English
Sessions are 50 minutes or 25 minutes. Short sessions are ideal for practicing speaking skills and gaining fluency. They are also more suitable for busy people!
I teach individuals, pairs, and small groups of 3 or 4 so if you prefer, you can learn with friends or family members.
I offer lower fees for packages of lessons and for pairs and groups.
I also offer a free session of 30 minutes to get to know each other and discuss your requirements.

I offer a 10% discount on packages of 10 lessons.
For students who want to learn in pairs or small groups, the lesson fee increases by £10 for each extra student.
