About Kieran
I am an experienced educator who has encouraged learning with students as a professor, TA, and tutor. I have accompanied many different people on their learning journey. Drawing on current learning theories and models of teaching, my end goal is for you to continue your intellectual adventuring beyond the classroom and throughout your life.

Besides teaching in community college, assisting in multiple college classes as a supplemental instructor, and tutoring in a variety of subjects over the years, I am also a recent former student. I went back to school as an adult because I had a desire to connect meaningfully with learners. I know how test anxiety feels. I was often a shy student. I have had great teachers and professors - people who combined high expectations with intellectual curiosity and encouragement, and who didn’t let their egos get in the way of exploring knowledge with their students. I have also experienced insecure instructors whose attitude was “my way or the highway.” For these educators, encouraging learning and embracing students’ curiosity was threatening. Not so with my approach to tutoring. You, the student, are the shaper of your own unique path to learning. I am honored to be a guide and a companion on that journey.
