About Simi
I am a certified English teacher with 7 years of experience as a tutor. I take time to get to know my students and their academic needs in order to build rapport and gain trust, which is fundamental for the collaborative learning process. I enjoy helping students with a broad array of writing assignments, including professional writing tasks, such as resumes and essays, as well as creative works, like poems and shorts stories.

First, I begin by getting to know students and asking them about personal interests and aspirations, as well as strengths and weaknesses when it comes to writing and communication.
Then, I will ask them to explain the task or assignment they need assistance with and I will have them tell me all of the requirements for that task. I ask them what questions they have or what seems challenging about the assisgment, and then provide further guidance.
Next, I will give them time to take a stab at the task independently, and I will be there to offer support throughout the writing process. I will check their writing about halfway through the assignment and provide feedback to help them make revisions and aid their writing process moving forward.
Finally, I will review the finished product and provide feedback for revisions and make note of patterns I observe within their writing that they need to improve upon. Once final revisions have been made, I will review the assignment with the student and let them know when it is ready for submission.
