About Ashton
Ashton is a native IELTS, Proficiency, and Politics tutor from London. As an IELTS specialist I can help you improve your IELTS score. I am CELTA-qualified with a 2:1 degree in Politics from Warwick University, and currently a History Masters student at University College London. I teach IELTS students both privately and in organisations. With some tips across all four skill areas – as well as much practice! – I’ve seen students enhance their scores, some getting the difficult 7+ level at writing.
Lessons are tailored to your needs, depending on which of the four IELTS skills you need to improve.
I am an experienced teacher of Proficiency-level general English, teaching from Cambridge English course books: Proficiency Masterclass and Objective Proficiency.
For university students studying politics, I specialise in offering writing advice and feedback, helping you improve your essays.
With a background working in financial planning for government, I also teach Business English and am always happy to help with language for presentations and writing generally.
I have plenty of materials, including some of my own bespoke quizzes for IELTS and Proficiency.
I've taught 2000+ IELTS & General English hours to international students, global medical professionals, and many others.

Ashton is an experienced teacher specialising in IELTS. He is always updating his knowledge of how best to teach exam skills and has a particular enthusiasm for helping students improve their writing.
He takes great interest in students' progress – for example, tracking their scores over time and identifying their problem areas based on repeated observation. He has had highly positive feedback from students on his IELTS courses.
