About Naomi
I am a creative problem-solver, and I love taking a confusing, boring, or overwhelming topic/skill and making it clear, manageable, and usually fun. I’ve taught English for all grades from 6-12 for the last 16 years. When I was in high school myself, I got a 5 on the AP Language and AP Literature Tests, so I can help you with anything English class-related, whether it’s writing and polishing an essay, studying for a vocabulary test, making sense of a Shakespeare play, or figuring out what to do with a semicolon. If you have a huge project and you don’t know where to start, I can help you break it down into manageable chunks that you can totally handle. English is fascinating, and I genuinely love teaching it, so tell me how I can help you gain reading, writing, and literature skills and confidence that you can take back to your English class to impress your teacher and improve your grade!

My lessons combine rigorous academic content with fun, engaging learning experiences so that students get the practice they need without getting bored or feeling overwhelmed. I am a creative, empathetic teacher with 16 years of experience meeting students at their level and helping them strengthen their skills and discover their unique voice. I will not waste your time with work that is below your level, and I will NEVER make you feel bad for not knowing how to do something. I love working with neurodivergent kids (I am neurodivergent, too!) and I have experience teaching students learning English as a second language (ELD).
