About Lauren
I am a Mathematics tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BA in Mathematics. My passion lies in topology and knot theory, where I explore the beauty of shapes, spaces, and continuous deformations. I love helping students visualise these concepts using diagrams, models, and real-world examples, such as molecular structures and artistic designs.
I work with students who are curious about abstract mathematics, as well as those interested in physics or the artistic side of patterns and forms. Lessons are tailored to each learner, combining rigorous proofs with intuitive understanding. I encourage asking questions, exploring ideas, and making connections beyond formulas.
Through interactive sessions, I help students develop strong problem-solving skills and a deeper appreciation for mathematical structures. I make challenging topics approachable without losing their depth. Learning topology can be like uncovering hidden patterns in the world around us.

My teaching approach in mathematics is nurturing and personalised, focusing on each student’s unique way of learning. I encourage playful exploration, helping students see maths as a fun and exciting subject. This helps students connect concepts to everyday situations and develop critical thinking skills. I create a supportive environment where curiosity is celebrated and mistakes are seen as learning opportunities.
I guide students through challenging problems patiently, ensuring they build confidence step by step. Together, we explore patterns, strategies, and creative problem-solving methods.
