About Shendi
I completed my academic study in the University of Auckland, and gained Bachelor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the end of 2005. After that, I started my postgraduate study in the University of Sydney in July 2008, and achieved Master of Chemical Engineering and Master of Project Management by 2010. Recently, I completed my study in Massey University, and achieved the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary). After years of study, I wish to apply my academic knowledge to the practical work in future.
On the other hand, I have been a mathematical tutor in both Australia and New Zealand. During my study of Graduate Diploma of Teaching, I have completed three practicums, teaching both the domestic and international students in the subjects of NCEA level 1 & 2 Mathematics and the standard IB course. At the moment, I am a mathematical tutor, teaching and tutoring both primary and secondary students from Year 1 to Year 13. Since I was taught and tutored in China during my fundamental education, and I am teaching in both China and western countries, I am confident that I am able to teach in the methods that suit the students best, in order to achieve the maximum results.

My sessions are usually one hour long for primary school pupils, while one hour and half long for secondary school students. Each session will have a specific topic of mathematics, and start from a brief revision of previous fundamental knowledge that is relevant to the topic of session. When conducting the real lesson, I usually use an example to explain the knowledge and the theories that the student need to learn from the lesson. Once the student understands the methods and the theories, I will let him try various types of problems by applying the methods and theories he has learnt, so that the student is able to be familiar with not only the knowledge that he should learn, but also the types of problems he could encounter with.
I am experienced of using PPT slides to conduct online sessions, as well as using paper-&-pen / blackboard to conduct face-to-face sessions.
