About Harleen
I have completed my law degree from the University of Southampton and have completed my master's in law. My previous tutoring experience includes teaching students from ages 8 to 16 in Maths, English Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. As a part of my role I am willing to create teaching materials to condense information for my students and to provide them with worksheets to further their learning. Alternatively, should it help them for me to aid them with their homework and current schoolwork I would be happy to do that with them instead. My ultimate rule is that I would want my students to look forward to their tutoring sessions and to end each session content in the belief that they have learnt something and I am willing to do whatever necessary to make this possible.

Typically I would hold lessons for 1 hour as this is most conducive to learning in terms of keeping focus. My typical method which I have found works for most students is to start the lesson with 20 minutes to explain the topic of choice to the student. I would then proceed by taking an additional 20 minutes to go through worked examples with the student. For the final 20 minutes, I give the student the opportunity to work on some questions independently and then conclude the lesson by marking the work and providing feedback. Homework then would consist of more questions to be completed independently. Of course, all children are different and this style does not work for everyone and so I sometimes change my style to perhaps spend longer explaining the topic or spending more time on working examples. I have worked as a tutor for the last year and have held lessons online and in person. I have tutored kids from as young as 8 up to the age of 16 giving me relevant experience with all age groups.

Harleen tutored my son for around a year to help him prepare for his 11+ exams. She tutored him in Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and did a great job. She's a reliable tutor and my son enjoyed coming to lessons. She provided weekly feedback on my son's progress and would provide him with homework and plenty of encouragement to prepare him for his exams.
Harleen is a confident person with a lot of knowledge that she is always enthusiastic to share. She has always loved working with kids and is incredibly patient and is great at simplifying problems so that students can easily learn from her and develop their skills.
