About Jane
Hi there, I'm Jane! I have been working as a professional college tutor for going on 3.5 years now, focusing on microbiology and biology. I have led everything from large study group sessions to one-on-one appointments. I love tutoring because I get to help students grow their knowledge in subjects that can be challenging but rewarding.
I hold a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Sciences, graduating summa cum laude, from Northern Illinois University. I am an American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Medical Laboratory Scientist, credentialed as MLS(ASCP)CM. I currently work full time as an MLS in the microbiology and molecular department as a large academic hospital. I have 3.5 years of tutoring experience in microbiology and biology at a college level.

While I currently work full-time, my schedule is flexible and I can meet with you in-person or online! I like to lay out a basic game plan for our time spent together, reviewing it with the student to ensure the session is set up for their success. I mostly tutor college students but I am open to working with high school students as well. I like to create a comfortable, laid back atmosphere where students feel welcome to ask all of their questions without judgment. I always like to make myself available for quick questions before and after our sessions as well!
