To every educator out there, building a deep, conceptual understanding of Mathematics and Science should be an engaging and empowering journey for every child. My approach focuses on simplifying complex topics through creative storytelling and interactive games to make learning both fun and memorable. I specialize in supporting primary school pupils, particularly those in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 through to those preparing for GCSE, ensuring they master foundational concepts in line with both Nigerian and British standard curricula.
My methodology is rooted in the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract (CPA) framework. This means that I begin with hands-on, physical demonstrations before moving to visual representations, and finally to abstract problem-solving, such as the "DSMB" (Divide, Subtract, Multiply, Bring Down) method for long division. This sequence ensures that students don't just memorize rules but truly understand the "why" behind the "how".
Typical lessons are structured for 60 minutes, though I adapt the duration to suit each child's attention span and learning goals. With extensive experience in educational consulting and a commitment to professional development including classroom management and emotional intelligence training, I view myself as a partner to my students. My goal is to see the student behind the desk, building trust and confidence necessary for a long-term academic success.
