About Check Shyong
I am an educator (trained English teacher) and also an environmentalist/environmental scientist (PhD in Chemical Engineering, UTM, Malaysia; MSc in Environmental Engineering, NUS, Singapore). I truly believe that I, as an educator, would inevitably carry the responsibility to bring awareness to the young generation about the importance of the preservation of the environment. Just as English is the most important universal language in the world, the preservation of the environment is also the most important universal responsibility of all mankind for the continuity of life on Earth. I intend to inculcate such environmental awareness among the young generation through the English lessons.

My lessons will be unorthodox, interesting and enjoyable as I will incorporate singing to improve pronunciation and intonation; public speaking and debating to enhance critical thinking and the courage to speak in public.
