About Heather
I am an experienced teacher (7 years classroom experience and 3 years online tutoring experience) and have a PGCE from Edgehill University. I will cater lessons to your needs - whatever you would like to get out of it (passing an exam/11 plus/SATS or just wanting to improve certain subject knowledge). My teaching methodologies are always based around the needs of the student. In maths, I am passionate about mastery - a deep understanding of the reasoning behind the use of certain techniques. In my opinion, there is no point in understanding how to do something if you don't understand why you are doing it. In English, I focus on purpose for writing and inspiration. What are you trying to achieve for your reader? How have certain authors managed to make you feel completely entranced by a book? Writing should be enjoyable - if you want to inspire young writers, then you must give them something to actually write about and help them to fall in love with language.
