About Joseph
I tailor my lessons according to the tutee's grasp of the subject with the focus on making things fun, engaging and demanding.
From experience I find the best way is to first highlight what the student feels less comfortable with and then to explore different ways we can improve their knowledge and technique, helping them to express themselves at school and in exams. I plan my lessons accordingly, including mock exams, marking, consultation with the parent and regular homework and reading if required.
My students soon grow in confidence and develop an enthusiasm for reading and writing, something which benefits their other studies. I endeavor to inspire my pupils to realise their potential, removing any blockages and approaching each session with a calm confidence in a positive, focused environment, free of stress and fear.
I've been working as a tutor for three years. I have ample experience in various areas of education and the arts. I've worked in schools at primary, secondary and A-Level and spent time teaching and mentoring in South America. I've also worked as a writer, director and actor. I find my experience in these fields benefits my work in education greatly.
