About Hong

I am a qualified and experienced Taichi instructor and originally from China. I live in north Wales for 17 years. I started to practise Yang style Taichi when I was 11 and achieved certificates in China and UK. I earn great experience and skills in teaching Taichi.

I teach Yang style Tai chi. I teach 8 form which is beginner level, 24 form which is intermediate level, and 42 form is very advanced level. But don’t worry if you never learn before. I will demonstrate the movement first then break down each form. Also I can supply videos to help you learn and practise in your own time, with the step by step instructions and home practice with videos support, you will definitely achieve Tai chi. Tai chi referred as “Moving Meditation“. TaiChi Relaxation exercise and Meditation are available. They become more on demand since the pandemic. Really helpful to learn and practise Tai chi relaxation and meditation, you can feel the effects of relaxed and happy. Tai chi breathing technique is included in the lessons. As we know breath is very important, most people do chest breathing, which don’t breathe in enough oxygen to supply the brain and the body. Tai chi breathing is a deep breathing technique, master this breathing technique can change your mood, your days and your life.

  • 1) What age did you start playing sport?Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

    11 Years old.When I was a child,I was weak and often sick.When I was 11 years old, my parents sent me to learn Tai chi because I always watched my dad practiced it and I really wanted to try it myself. As I kept practicing, my body became stronger and my health improved, I rarely get sick anymore.Tai chi truly changed my life.Now, I wake up at 6:30 every morning to practice Tai chi, and it makes me feel so relaxed and happy.I fall asleep as soon as I get into bed every night. I prioritize my health because a good health is essential for a good life.
  • 2) What are your favourite sports;those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby,and a sport that you'd still like to discover?

    Tai chi and Qigong are my favourite sports.
  • 3) What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?

    Teaching Tai chi and Qigong, give me the motivation and passions to pursue.By delivering these traditional Chinese exercises, improve my students' physical health and mobility.When students thank me or express their enjoyment of my lessons, it brings me great joy.Their appreciation fuels my dedication and enthusiasm for teaching.
  • 4) Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?

    I am very proud of successfully teaching Tai chi and Qigong to many students.Seeing their physical and mental transformations, from improved mobility and stability,alleviate their symptoms, to reduce stress and anxiety, has been incredibly rewarded.Their progress and positive feedback are my greatest achievements.
  • 5) How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sports person?

    The achievements and challenges helps me improve communication skills, explaining complex Tai chi and Qigong movements clearly and effectively in English,also deepen my own knowledge of Tai chi and Qigong.And working through challenges has strengthened my resilience and determination.
  • 6) If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose?And what questions would you ask them?

    Definitely Lionel Messi.My son and I love football,and he plays in the local kids football team.I would ask Messi how to play football well and how important he thinks football is for children.
  • 7) How do you help people stay motivated?

    By spreading the theoretical knowledge and philosophical concepts of Tai chi and Qigong.I help students build a strong foundation in Tai chi and Qigong, and help their understanding and solidify their skills.Through demonstrating the graceful movements of Tai chi and Qigong, and emphasizing proper form, I enable students to gradually experience,and develop an interest and motivation for learning Tai chi and Qigong. My goal is to inspire them to become enthusiasts and practitioners of Tai chi and Qigong.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in sports?

    Since I started to learn Tai chi, I loved it straight away.As I continued to practice Tai chi over time(later I learned Qigong as well),my health gradually improved, my love for Tai chi grew stronger day by day, and I wanted to understand it more deeply and learn more thoroughly.I studied each move diligently under the guidance of several highly respected Tai chi masters and Qigong masters.Continuously improving myself and earnestly learning the theories of Tai chi and Qigong ,I integrated theory with practice, which laid a solid foundation for both my own practice and my teaching.This allowed me to learn , practice and teach Tai chi and Qigong in a scientific and effective manner, helping me become a good Tai chi and Qigong teacher.
