Computer Science Tutor and Software Developer with Strong Mathematical Foundations
Hello! I’m Sunil, a Senior Software Engineer, a Mathematics graduate (Hons), and a holder of a Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA). My journey combines strong academic foundations in mathematics with practical experience in software development — where logical thinking meets real-world technology.
Educational Journey
My interest in analytical thinking began with my fascination for Mathematics during my Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) years. While studying, I started helping classmates understand mathematical concepts they found difficult. This early teaching experience helped me realize how rewarding it is to simplify complex ideas and support others in their learning journey.
Professional Journey
After completing my MCA, I began my career in the IT industry as a Software Engineer. Over the years, I have worked on designing and developing software systems, solving technical problems, and applying logical thinking to real-world challenges.
This professional experience allows me to connect Computer Science concepts with practical industry examples, helping students understand not only the theory but also how these concepts are applied in real technology environments.
Transition to Tutoring
Teaching, for me, is more than a profession — it is a passion. I started tutoring part-time to share my knowledge of Computer Science, programming, and the mathematical foundations behind computing.
Many Computer Science subjects rely heavily on mathematical thinking, including topics like Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Algorithms, and Logical Reasoning. My background allows me to help students understand these concepts clearly and confidently.

My lessons are interactive, personalized, and goal-oriented. Whether you are preparing for exams, working on assignments, or trying to understand challenging topics, I focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear and practical explanations.
Students benefit from my combination of academic knowledge, industry experience, and teaching passion, helping them build strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
Fun fact: During my university years, I was a University Chess Champion. Chess strengthened my analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving — skills that naturally support both mathematics and computer science learning.

My Computer Science lessons focus on building strong fundamental concepts and practical problem-solving skills. I help students understand both the theoretical foundations and real-world applications of computing.
Lessons can cover topics such as programming fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, databases, software development concepts, and important mathematical foundations used in Computer Science such as Discrete Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, and logical reasoning.
For school students, I focus on strengthening computing basics, coding logic, and exam preparation.
For pre-university and university students, lessons can support coursework, assignments, and deeper understanding of core Computer Science subjects.
My teaching approach is interactive and concept-focused. I simplify complex topics using step-by-step explanations, practical examples, and insights from my experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
Lessons are usually 1–2 hours long, allowing enough time for concept explanation, practice problems, and discussion of questions or assignments.
Each lesson is personalized according to the student’s level, syllabus, and learning goals, helping them build confidence, improve analytical thinking, and succeed in their studies.
