Hi, I’m Melanie! I’m a teacher and school counselor with several years of experience helping students excel in reading, spelling, English, math, and self-regulation skills. My goal is to provide personalized, supportive tutoring that not only strengthens academic skills but also builds confidence and strong learning habits. I combine my teaching experience with counseling knowledge to create lessons that are engaging, structured, and individualized to each student’s unique needs. My Teaching Approach:
I use a student-centered approach, which is used by combining academic instruction with strategies for focus and confidence. I make sure I tailor and support each of my students' lessons to their strengths and make them feel motivated. helping them build skills and confidence.
Lesson Plan Summary example:
Check-In: Start by seeing how the student is feeling and focused. We may do a quick icebreaker or a 5-minute brain warm-up to get their minds ready.
Review: Go over previous work and homework to reinforce learning and identify areas that need extra attention.
Main Lesson: Introduce new concepts in the subject, guiding the student step by step and asking questions to ensure understanding along the way.
Practice & Feedback: Guided practice with tips, positive feedback and encouragement
Wrap-Up & Goals: Summarize key points and set goals for the next session
