About Peter
Peter Booth M.A.(Cantab) P.G.C.E. Experienced tutor, lecturer and curriculum designer. My teaching experience spans over 30 years and I have worked in schools in the United Kingdom, Spain and Singapore. I specialise in English Literature at A-Level and O-Level. I am also a language specialist and have taught English G.C.S.E. and O-Level in the UK and Singapore and English as a second language to students in Spain. I have run three English Departments - one in the UK and two in Singapore, and I have worked on the A-Level Curriculum Development Committee in two Colleges in Singapore. I have also worked on the development of A-Level Literature programmes for the Singapore Examination and Assessment Board and the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. I am now focused on teaching English Literature, online, to students at A'Level or its equivalent. Having worked in RJC/Raffles Institution, one of the most highly respected A-Level Colleges in South-East Asia, where top grades are demanded by both the school and the parents, and tuition is a part of everyday life for most students, I can strongly recommend the benefits of tuition. In tutorials we will engage in close reading and analysis of texts, in discussion and often supported by PowerPoint presentations and other online materials. I have been teaching online for three years with a 100% success rate. Previously I have been Head of three English Departments, and worked for seventeen years at Raffles Institution, which is one of the top five schools in the world for Oxbridge entrance, and where top grades are demanded by the school, the students and the parents. In my online tutorials students will benefit from this experience and I will endeavour to ensure that they achieve the best results they possibly can.
