About Diane
Having taught GCSE maths for the last 14 years to a range of students from learning difficulty (SEN) to top grade students, I welcome new students.
I have extensive experience with a large range of special educational needs and I am good at forming positive relationships with my students to inspire them in the subject of mathematics.
Known for fun, innovative, inspiring lessons and improving confidence, I can guarantee that with your hard work and mine we will together uncover your true ability.
I have worked in Secondary education for 13 years and have achieved great results from my students by forming good strong working relationships that bring out the best in them.

My teaching methodology is student based. After a few lessons I will be able to understand the student's learning style, capacity and pattern and adapt my teaching accordingly. Getting to know my students is paramount, so that I can create effective, fun lessons that are tailored to their individual needs.
Essentially I adapt my teaching style so as to explain all the concepts and methods in a way that can be clearly understood by my students. Sometimes I use alternative methods to aid understanding, such as using practical examples, relating the topics to real life, student interests or fictional puzzles/games. I try to incorporate the interests of a particular student where possible, showing applications of maths and its importance in our world. This enables my students to learn more easily and enjoy their learning.

Diane was the best mentor I had. Was very supportive through my start as a teacher. If not her guidance and positive attitude to teaching maths probably I would give up.
