About Kylee
Hi! My name is Kylee Korando, and I am new to tutoring, but I am super excited to start! I just graduated high school, after taking nearly every AP/honors class offered and participating in a bunch of academic organizations (Math Team, Science Olympiad, WYSE, Future Business Leaders of America, TSA TEAMS, etc.) I have also spent the last 2 years tutoring middle school math-team students in preparation for the mathematical competition each year. I have gotten through Calculus III and Differential Equations in math (5 in both AP Calculus AB and BC), gotten a 5 in AP Biology, and have gotten a 4 in AP World History, AP United States History, and AP Physics I. While I am most comfortable teaching math and biology skills, I would happily offer to help in those (or related) subjects as well. I received a score of 35 on my ACT (36 superscored) and a similar score on the SAT, and was admitted to an Ivy League school, so I would also be happy to help with any test prep or college application material. What truly sets me apart is that I will have the time and the interest to dedicate to best teaching each subject to each individual child, and I have been through the classes recently enough to know up-to-date information and relevance.
I truly enjoy spreading any tidbits of wisdom I have collected through my experience through elementary, middle, and high school. I never had a tutor or any older sibling to help me along the way, and I felt how hard that can be. Although I had to discover how to succeed on my own (and I still believe finding some of that independently is rewarding), helping students in similar situations as myself would make me feel very fulfilled. I love prepping for lessons, and coming up with new ideas to better represent new concepts. Even taking the time to brush up on some of the ideas I've learned a few years ago would be welcome. I am trying to fund my university education, and with the extra time I have recently found on my hands, I decided that helping students would be a good way to spend it.
I have to say, most of my qualifications for tutoring are self-taught. However, I am a recent, high achieving high school graduate who graduated at the top of their class, and so I know how to best approach each subject, as I've lived through it rather recently. I also have experience coaching younger members of my clubs, as well as helping teach middle-schoolers techniques for mathematical thinking and logic.

First, I would like to learn just how a student thinks. The way each student processes information is different, and therefore finding the best way to approach each subject is important to me. Next, I would try to learn which classes your student excels in and which ones he/she has to put in more effort. Then, I would come up with a study plan that would best help the student achieve their goals!
