About Jeremy
Hi, I'm Jeremy.
I've been acting for over 20 years, starting in high school and continuing through to today. I have attended the Studio Theatre Conservatory in Washington DC and received an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design.
I don't adhere to a specific philosophy or methodology. Rather, I work hard to tailor my efforts to suit individual students' needs. I want to help you find what works for you so that you can be at your best. It's not about peddling an ideology for me. It's about helping you grow.
I offer help with scene work, monologue preparation, scene study, Shakespeare Basics, and auditioning basics.
I am based in Staten Island at the moment.
I was formerly willing and able to meet in person, but in light of the Covid pandemic I am only offering online coaching at the moment (via Facetime, Hangouts, Skype, Zoom... or whatever free thing the internet comes up with next).
Throughout my time in this field, I have come to love helping others discover solutions within the scope of their own work as much as I have always loved the work itself. And I very much look forward to helping you find your most truthful and effective artistic voice.
I have formally taught as a part of a number of touring productions designed to introduce younger audiences to Shakespeare.
However, I have always naturally gravitated toward helping those who struggle with their work. It's a personality trait which has been on display throught my entire educational career in the context of noets given in the many classroom settings I've been a part of.
I have an MFA from SCAD, I completed the core cirriculum at teh Studio Theare Conservatory in DC, I have achieved certification in multiple forms of stage combat from the SAFD, and I have 25-and-counting years of experience in the acting profession

Acting is an artform which is inextricably tied to human connection and empathy. So when I meet someone I'm either going to share a scene with or help with their own work, I do my best to understand their goals, the issues their facing, and who they are as a person.
From there, I develop a strategy that best suits the partnership at hand.
While the details will necessarily fluxuate, I will say that my perspective tends to focus on drilling down into the specifics of what a character *really* wants as a result of what they really love and strive for in their life, and what they're willing to do to get it... *and*... what the individual actor's "way in" to that emotional reality might be.
My official capacity as a teacher is limited students ranging from 3rd grade to middleschool.
Throughout my life as a performer, I have helped fellow students and castmates ranging from high school drama class, to grad school, and even a handful of professional colleagues
