About Jessie
I am an American Sign Language teacher at a private school in Pennsylvania. I began this job after moving up north from Tampa, FL where I taught ASL at the University of Tampa! I grew up signing and have grown my passion into my career! I made history by being the first person to perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language for the Philadelphia Flyers and have performed for the Tampa Bay Rays and Reading Phillies as well. I have made it my life goal to teach as many people ASL as I can to add to the Deaf Community and spread awareness about deafness and Deaf Culture.
I teach ASL levels 1-5 and can teach as fast or slow as necessary! I can't wait to get to know you and show you my passion for this wonderful language and culture!
Growing up, I felt as thought I could count on one hand the number of teachers who encouraged me, supported me, and found a way to teach me how I learn best. I was determined to become that teacher for all of the students who, like me, never got this experience.
I have been a private tutor for over 6 years in addition to teaching many subjects in a private school setting as well as a college setting.

I call the first meeting the "introductory meeting" - we get to know each other and I am able to understand your goals, current knowledge level, and how you learn best. From there we determine if this pairing is a good fit. If yes, we begin on content - fully customized to ensure you understand the content and enjoy the process as well!
