About Frankie
Hi! I’m Frankie, and i’m a 3rd year Computer Science and Ancient History student at Exeter University.
Maths was a great source of stress for me during my younger years - I always thought it was just something I “couldn’t do”. That all changed when I realised that it was the way maths was being taught to me, and not the subject itself, that was the issue.
Once I realised that I could approach maths in my own way, the sky opened up, and I even went on to take Maths as an A Level (achieving an A*)!
I’m now looking to help other people have doors opened as they were to me.

I have a friendly and approachable teaching style, looking to get the most out of my students whilst keeping their stress to a minimum!
I have previously successfully tutored GCSE foundation and higher maths students 1:1, as well as primary school aged children in groups of five through First Class Learning.
My maths lessons focus on building each student’s confidence in their own abilities - especially their ability to learn and improve. I like to adapt the methods in which I teach to match each student’s style of thinking, de-mystifying the subject as much as possible and making maths as approachable as possible.
For GCSE students this involves using past papers to get to know problem areas, before breaking these down session by session. I am always open to using a new angle to unlock a topic in a way that is engaging for a given student!
Lessons will typically last an hour.
