About Chad
I have experience proof reading fellow students work such as essays and reading responses. I have applied for other tutoring positions through Arizona State University and was highly recommended by my TA/Professors, however I didn't meet the deadline and ultimately was not given the opportunity to become a tutor.
I am currently a full time student at Arizona State University majoring in Art History and minoring in Religious Studies. Out side of school I do some freelance illustration for a local publishing company here in town. I enjoy being outside (backpacking etc.) I also paint (oil and acrylic) and do digital art work with various programs including Sketchbook Pro, Fresh Paint etc. I am very interested in culture, particularly religion and mythologies of cultures, which is why I have chosen to major in Art History rather than World History. Art History and Religion compliment each other well.
I have studied a wide variety of ancient and medieval art, which includes cave paintings, Mesopotamian sculpting, ancient Egyptian reliefs and sculpture, Greek and Roman sculpture and vase paintings as well as art through the renaissance that included artists working in styles of byzantine, renaissance, high renaissance, baroque, rococo, humanism, romanticism and impressionism. I have also narrowed my studies down culturally and studied the art of Asia (the different dynasty’s) and classes specific to the classical antiquity of ancient Greece and Rome. I absolutely love what I study and would be thrilled to share my knowledge with hopes of helping anyone who seeks to know more about these fantastic areas of in history.
I have always been fascinated in cultural mythology particularly the stories we find in ancient Greek and Rome. That’s not to say that I don’t have a special place in my heart for the mythologies of the world, each is unique but seem to be pulled from the same pool of ideas. Since my first mythology class I have decided to branch out seeking to study the religions behind these different mythologies. I recently finished a New Testament class, which I thought was one of the most fascinating books ever written. Something to keep in mind when studying the religions of the world, they each have there own set of rules and practices so I urge anyone who want’s to learn any of what these different world religions have to offer to approach them with an open mind, set aside your personal beliefs, break through your religious boundaries, much of what you will learn is going to be approached from a scholarly point of view.
For years I dreaded any class that had anything remotely to do with writing. Unfortunately as a college student almost all of my classes have required some type of writing. The issue I always had was taking a subject a being able to thoroughly address it within my writing. How do you take a single subject and stretch it into 4 or 5 pages? Luckily for me I eventually found my place and have written many, many papers in college all of which I enjoyed writing. This is because I approached the subject from my point of view, or found a point of view that I enjoyed. Anything can be written with a personal touch and quality as long as the writer thoroughly understands what it is they are writing about. Any doubt will only make it harder to express your self and address your issue.
My passion has always been to learn anything and everything in order for me to be able to give back information in a fresh new way bearing my own individual influence.
I am a senior at Arizona State University, I have worked with many students (both tutoring and proofing). My work reflects my passion for my interests.
