About Tony

I've been playing basketball since I was 5 years old and from the age of five I've been playing in traveling teams and when I reached high School I was starting as a freshman at a top tier High School that I was being recruited from the school I chose but besides the high school that I decided to attend I had at least 20-40 different camps examples like Addidas,Nike, Reebok, and played for Double A leagues and AAU before attending High School which so many recruits from different schools would offer from different high schools of top tier High competition basketball based on high schools mostly private schools in LA,IE,OC & San Fernando county and all with free tuition.I was first team all 4 years of my High School CIF my freshman, sophomore, Junior and Senior year. I was not only named first team in the league but was MVP of the team my Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.I Also was not only MVP of my team three out of the four years and name first team in the league all four years but was MVP of the league my Junior and Senior year as well as I believe my greatest accomplishment all CIF my Junior and Senior year and led the league in scoring in both years by averaging 38 points a game.I also played for Rio Hondo community college and then started coaching at first my alma mater and then got my coaching job where I attended School kindergarten through eighth grade Armenian Mesrobian school and also Coach my high school basketball team as well as the girls high school team. The school I went to was from kindergarten to 12th grade and starting in 6th grade is when competitive basketball started so it was 6 to 8th grade, and then 8th grade had a team of its own and I coached all three of those teams the 6th through 8th grade, and then 8th grade also had a team of its own and also coached the girls and boys high school team. First and foremost I love the game and what it takes an effort, skills and many more attributes that if I could explain everything this will turn into not a mini bio but a essay. I think a lot of the younger players are forgetting how successful just the basic of our game is so important like defending and knowing who you defend and realizing what his dominant hand is to force him opposite then what that player keeps doing let's say driving always to the right they don't know how to cut off that player or to cause so much pressure and then without even pressure Force the player to his left where he's not comfortable and where you will be in control and that also brings up a very important point our younger players are not even 50% capable of using their opposite hand in dribbling, or driving to the whole and laying the ball up with opposite hand and just those two little factors that I didn't have to mention can take you so very far it could make a player go from 8th or 9th on the bench to a starter but the most important thing I like to say is I can go on forever till today I play in leagues and coach high level basketball to boys and girls ages 10 through 16 and even 10 years old I wouldn't 2 years ago do that and what I mean is to take a job and teaching a 10 year old but one thing when you see a dedication in someone so young you want to teach but I don't like when a kid is forced into something by a parent or a friend or someone he or she looks up to because whomever it may be I pour my heart into this and when I say that I don't mean like I'm some strict coach or anything I just mean that I teach if you were a student of mine or had the opportunity you would see very valuable lessons that can make you very successful in your youth or High School and believe me if you have the skills and I can see it which goes obviously everyone is different by their skill I can teach you basically college practice and what they do and what they demand and what you must have in your back pocket and what I mean by that is your basketball skills and that is what I can do for a player for them to move on further with a sport and I like to think that I'm also a role model being older I like to be an example of someone carrying themselves with class dignity, morals and values. To be great play the right way and the concept team which you will always be part of a team after school, college you will work with people and believe or not you will realize this is a team so accomplishments can be made so many ways. I thought back then only accomplishment I ever wanted was to play college basketball and then the NBA but it's hard sometimes to get through some youngsters but sooner or later they will understand and I hope first and foremost you pick someone not just because they have all this great resume because the greatest coaches I ever had they didn't have great resumes and believe me you could ask any of the players I played with we all learned the most from coaches like that so I hope I can get an opportunity as I have a clientele already and wish to really teach kids, teenagers, young adults how to succeed and so much that they think they might know that they are missing and my job is only to make sure you walk out looking completely different like you went from the G League to the NBA so I wish to hear from whomever so we can get to work. Thank you and will supportively stay safe and healthy out there

I coach my alma mater high school basketball team both girls and boys I also coach many different leagues and these are not leagues that not everyone can get in but are invited and is organized by Adidas. And I also help out with many different high school teams I go in one to four times a month depending on the school and these are four I would say Powerhouse high schools and I also play in a select League that you can play in and I also play in a YMCA League the competitive league in this particular YMCA one year had a team which they could play but they were getting blown out by 30 or 40 and we have such a long list in that YMCA that we ask them to join the year after not the competitive leak so I keep myself active and I coach my alma mater which I'm very proud of have one League both the boys and girls 8 years in a row I've been there 7 years and I also coach like I said the Adidas sponsored League which kids are asked or said I say are invited and then I coach as I said particular other team I would say in my days they called it traveling league team. I can mention names that will startle and make people hire me maybe just because of that but that's not the way I roll or attend to throw out names and such notch I think after if chosen or given an opportunity by someone they can tell that I have experience of what I do and I will be a benefactor to he or she and they will accomplish even more than they assumed

Assessing their strengths and weaknesses by running drills that I have been running for over 20 years of coaching high elite athletes and basketball teams. Drills could be your shooting motion to how well you shoot, your strengths of your jump shot and where your high percentage is the three-point line the 10 to 15 ft jump shot. Also run simple drills to see how well you dribble the basketball and how well your offhand is, I can go on and on to the drills I run but there are quite few that I can stay to you that some basketball players will understand the use of the drill and others won't and I can't get into all the drills because I have many and the uses for them but I have many different exercises I run to figure out the players strength and weakness so I know what it is that I have to pay more attention to and teach because there's different offensive drills and different defensive drills. I have besides myself of course I have my brother who is very accomplished basketball player and played at UC Irvine that will also assist me on some of these drills because it's very easy sometimes just shooting when no one is guarding you or dribbling the ball with only your right or left hand without defense. I must also state that everything starts in levels and gradually gets more and more advanced
