About Lauren
Hello! I am a university senior currently studying psychology and biology. I plan to get a masters in science education and incorporate psychology into my lessons. I am a near straight A student, but have struggled in the past with science and understand how it feels to be lost and overwhelemed with information. I have a passion for science and wish to share this and help others gain a better understanding of the subject.
I am a substitute currenlty, but I have tutored in the past. I love when I can help someone discover a subject that they love and help others gain an excitement about science (or psychology!). No one deserves to feel lost and confused in their studies, and I believe that every student can succeed with the proper resources.
I am a substitute teacher and have tutored in the past. I am also currently in school for biopsychology. This means I am constantly learning about science as well as how people learn. I would like to teach after I graduate, and have been doing research on the topic for my entire college career.

First I like to establish a baseline with the student. What are struggling with? Why do you think you are struggling with it? What do you know already?
Then I work with the student to set goals. Do they want a specific grade on a test or project? Are they looking to improve their grade in the course overall? Do they simply need help to pass?
Next we make a plan. Is the content the problem or does the student need to improve their note takind and studying habits? Do we need to cover some basics again before we dive into new information?
Mostly those who are simply falling behind, but I also tutor students with ADHD/ADD and dyslexia.
