About Taylor
I have two years experience as a high school teacher in Memphis, TN where I taught AP Biology, Biology Honors, Anatomy & Physiology, STEM, and ACT Prep. During my time as I teacher I was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award for my first year and my second year I was appointed as one of two Spotlight Teachers in recognition of excellent teaching and student outcomes and ability to build positive, meaningful relationships with students and their families. I also acted as a Science and History Team Lead during my time as a teacher. I moved to NYC to pursue my Master of Public Health at Columbia. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree with a minor in Psychology.
I have two years experience as a high school AP Biology, Biology Honors, Anatomy & Physiology, and STEM teacher. During this time, I also facilitated ACT prep lessons. I have experience working with kids of all ages as a dance teacher, a camp counselor, and a program facilitator.

With a new student, I make sure to get to know who they are as a person, not just as a student. I want to know their likes and dislikes, their interests and their passions so that I can best teach them. I usually administer a pre-test during the first session so that I can gain an idea of where the student is and what the focus areas should be. I also ask them where they feel they need the most help and to explain why they think that is, so that I can aid then in a holistic way.
