About Alexandra
Hi! I've been teaching chemistry for the last 10 years. I've taught several levels of chemistry including General, college prep, and honors. I've also tutored SAT math prep courses. I believe that practice makes perfect and the best way to practice is to actually do the problems! I have experience tutoring straight from the material or creating my own.
I love the ah ha! moment! Math is not everyone's strong suit. The most satisfying moment is when a student who has been struggling finally understands a topic. It's like a light goes off and I could not be more proud of my student.
I graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in chemistry. I then got my teaching certification using the alternate route through New Jersey. I've taught multiple levels of chemistry for the last 10 years and I am currently in school to get my Masters in Education

I like to start with a discussion. The main focus being what they are struggling with, assessing their level of understanding, and evaluating where they are in the curriculum. From there we can create an individualized plan for that student.

Details
I generally charge 45$ an hour. I am usually fine meeting my students in a location, however, with the current pandemic I would prefer only to meet virtually. I can meet anytime from noon onward on any day.
