About Tyler
My name is Ty and I am currently a Pharmacology Ph.D. Graduate student at University of Michigan Medical School. I was a Biochemistry major during undergrad and have background being a lab assistant and medical scribe. I am a nationally qualified tutor through the Reading and Learning Association. My tutoring experience dates back to 2013.
I began teaching and tutoring in undergrad while receiving my Bachelor's in Biochemistry. Along with tutoring, I became a laboratory assistant for the chemistry department. I had difficulties in learning when I began my college career; therefore, I want to help out others that may experience the same thing whether it is specific or general.
My whole career/life has been part of the education system. At the end of this Ph.D., it will be 10 years in school and more specifically, science. Therefore, my training and experiences are far and wide when it comes to education and tutoring.

My typical process with a new tutee is to first assess how the student learns. In my previous experience, I have noticed that everyone learns differently and determining the most efficient way of learning in the beginning will promote a better overall experience.
I have worked with all students including high school, college, special needs, learning disabilities, and graduate school.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A big question is "Where do I begin?". Most of the time, I have noticed that the most difficult part to grasping a concept is the beginning point. Once you find this out, a snowball effect of knowledge usually occurs.
