About Izabela

I decided to become a chemistry teacher back when I was in high school. I had an amazing Chemistry teacher that really inspired me. I feel that now it is my turn to share the knowledge and enthusiasm of using Chemistry.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Education and I've been a high school chemistry teacher for the past 3 years.

Before/while teaching a new student I like to get to know them. In order to adapt my teaching strategies, I need to know their learning styles and what they're usually good at. Making a connection in between chemistry and what they normally do or experience in life, facilitates the learning process.
As a high school teacher I've worked with all types of students, with different accommodations and from different cultural backgrounds.
A lot of students I know need extra help when it comes to chemistry. It is not because you're not capable or smart enough to learn on your own. In my experience, chemistry courses are fast paced, so all you need is some extra instruction time and practice to get where you need to be.
I always get emotional when my previous students come back to visit me in my classroom to tell me they got accepted in college.
