About Bryce
I am a recent college graduate with a passion for science, and have worked extensively as a teaching assistant and tutor for college-level courses. I have strong backgrounds in biology and chemistry, and will be starting a PhD program in earth and environmental sciences this fall. I love talking science and learning new things, and I would be thrilled to work as a tutor to help students at skill level!
I enjoy sharing experiences I have had during my education, and relating those experiences to the learning goals of my students. I have worked often as a teaching assistant for labs and field-based courses, so I have a breath of practical knowledge from these classes that I enjoy relating to what I am teaching to my students.
I got started teaching because I idolized teachers in my life. I realized the impact they had on my life, and realized I wanted to do the same for others.
I have a bachelors degree in Geology, with other focuses in Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. I served as a teaching assistant and tutor for multiple undergraduate courses, and have also tutored on the high school and middle school level.

My typical process for working with a new student is to recognize the fundamental gaps in their knowledge of a subject, and build their skill set to help fill in these weaker areas. I don’t believe it is important to focus on small details or memorization, but rather to hone critical thinking skills and building a broader understanding of the topic, and its applications.
Recently, I have been teaching sophomores and juniors in college. However, I began working as a tutor by instructing middle and high school age students, so I have a wide range of teaching experience.
