About Danielle
I'm a college student majoring in Genetics and I have a passion for both STEM courses and the arts. I have taken AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, AP Music Theory, AP Calculus, and AP English Literature, and received passing grades on every exam.
I am often asked by colleagues and friends alike to help with homework and other classes, and a friend of mine who runs a tutoring business suggested that I turn my skills into something that can help even more people.
I'm a second year college student with a 3.8 GPA and was an honors graduate from high school.

First I have a discussion with the student about their goals and what they hope to get out of the tutoring session. From there I work towards whatever we decide is neccessary, and at the end of the session we revisit what the student wished to get out of the session versus what they did get out of the session and use it as a guideline for how to structure future sessions.
I mostly work with high school students for AP exam material, however I also work with regular high school level and college level coursework.
Make sure you find someone who is passionate about the subject and about teaching--a large amount of people are simply in it for the money, and will not help you to the best of their abilities.
I volunteered at a local walk for charity doing facepainting for kids. One kid I'd recently painted came back with his friend in tow. They both liked the painting I'd done so much that the friend wanted one just like it. It was cute not only that they liked my work so much, but how close of friends they were.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Make a list in your mind about what your most important qualities for a tutor are, and don't compromise on any of them. Don't compromise at all until you've completely exhausted your resources, and even then compromise as little as possible.

Details
The first 30 minutes cost $10, with $5 for every additional 30 minutes of time. For the sake of myself and the students I do not reccommend a session lasting longer than 2 hours at a time. Your brain works best in short chunks!
