About Rebecca
No student is the same, and they should not be treated as such. Versatility is the key when educating different students from different backgrounds. Additionally I like to relate course topics to real life scenarios to better help the student understand the material.
I enjoy seeing the "ah ha" moments that happen when a student understands a concept that they have been struggling with.
I have always been a teacher. From my youth I assisted as a leader in my extra curricular activities which then branched to me running my own classes. Eventually branching to teaching clients in a one on one setting.
I have a B.S. in Biology, have completed internships both domestically & abroad, and furthered my education via continuing education programs. Additionally I have extensive experience working with adults & children ages 4-18, including those with developmental delays.

When working with a new student I do general assessment to see what level of understanding they have of their curriculum. From there a plan is made with checkpoints that coincide with the student's syllabus to confirm the student is understanding the material as we advance.
I have worked with children ages 4-18, and have additional experience working with children with developmental delays. I also have experience with adult students who have started a second career.
The most ideal advice is there is never a "stupid question". Most of the time students feel less than because of a lack of understanding of a topic and glaze over it in an effort to give the appearance of understanding. Ask any and all questions. They will be met with comfort & versatility to better suit the needs of the student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think what is the goal of the material being learned. How can I apply this material to real life experiences? What pieces am I missing that does not make sense?
