About David
I have experience teaching in a few different types of schools, including high achieving private schools, therapeutic schools for students with emotional and learning disabilities, and public schools. My deep understanding of math and science comes from a keen interest, which led me to earn two post graduate degrees in physics and planetary science. I regularly practice programming and data analysis and continue to practice quantitative and logical thinking.
All of these when combined leads to an understanding of how students commonly think when approached with new topics. You will have a tutor who meets your student where they are, and actively guide them to learn using the tools they already have.
It is a great joy to see a student advance. Students often believe some topics are "off-limits" to them, either due to exposure to math-phobic language, or some false perception of themselves. My goal is to show students that nearly everything in mathematics is based on managing simple ideas and skills that they may already understand in another way.
