About Shehbaz
My tutoring sessions are 1:1 customized to meet my student needs.
I teach online and give take home assignments based on the session so that the core concepts taught in the session are understood by my students.
All my notes are shared with the student during the session and are available to them after the session.
I also evaluate and provide feedback on the assignments after the session is complete.
I also provide urgent help and assistance through email or a quick phone call so that you can make progress.
In my 5+ years of teaching undergraduate and high-school students, I have learned that every student has different needs and different learning curve.
I like creating customized sessions that the students can learn from and have fun along the way :).
I like to teach online so that students can reach me from the comfort of their home.
I have a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Toronto.
I have tutored more than 20 students 1:1 over 5 years with data structures, algorithms, c++ and python.
I also have classroom teaching experience of about 2 years teaching a group of 40 students.
I currently work as a software engineer at Google.

I believe every student is different.
I usually have a free 15 minute call to introduce myself and to ask the students requirements. This helps me prepare and customize my session so that the student can get the most out of the session.
The questions I ask include:
- any immediate assignments/ deadlines they have from their school.
- previous background and understanding in coding so that we can move to more advanced concepts.
- for more senior students - any upcoming interview deadlines they have.
