I am drawn to the art of belly dancing by the way the movements celebrate our physical existence, by how the performances allow me to connect with others so delightfully, and because I love music!
My background in fine arts also includes painting and writing, with a bachelors degree from Amherst College summa cum laude with highest honors in painting followed by a masters degree in art history (focus: modern art) earned at University of Massachusetts Amherst. My dance education is even more extensive and on-going. I’ve had the opportunity to study with world famous dancers who continue to inspire my own art.
I’m grateful to all of my teachers, and also to my inspiring students! I’m honored to perform for a great number of celebrations and events, and pleased to represent Chattanooga as a belly dance artist. I am a dedicated and impassioned dancer, and find my highest inspiration through the beautiful art of belly dance. I love to share this art, whether through teaching, performing, choreographing, practicing, or writing about it!

Training with numerous professional dancers, including Rose Champagne; Mahmoud Reda; Sahra Saeeda; Leyla Jouvana & Roland; Artemis Mourat; Rosa Noreen; Eva Cernik; Carolina Varga Dinicu; Aegela; Aziza Nawal; Amani Jabril; Violet Scrap; and many more great and inspiring teachers. I always continue my study of belly dance and other dance and performance art styles.
I have been teaching, performing, choreographing, organizing events, and directing troupes for more than a decade.

This is the most welcoming and encouraging environment for women. Besides that, we just have fun. Come dance and express yourself with us. Jillanna offers something wonderful for all who walk through the studio door.
I love the welcoming atmosphere of the instructors and the other students. Classes that range in skill levels from beginners to advance. Also a great style variety depending on what you want to do.
